Biography

Thomas Adgate V was born on 20 Mar 1755 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut Colony, son of Thomas Adgate IV (1734 - 1777) and Ruth (Leffingwell) Adgate (1736 - >1786). His brother was John Hart Adgate Sr. (1759 - 1809).

Thomas married Elizabeth Chester (~1761 - 1830) .Their children were:

  1. Elizabeth (Adgate) Collins ( - )
  2. Rev. Chester V Adgate (1769 - 1833).

Thomas married Mary Abell (1758 - 1812) on 27 Dec 1782. [1]Their children were:

  1. Abel Adgate (~1786 - ~1842)
  2. Theophilus Adgate (1786 - 1875)
  3. Thomas Adgate VI (~1790 - ).
