Another listing shows the following children with John Newton (1626 - 1697) Jane, Thomas William, Benjamin, Joseph, John, Gerard.[citation needed] Some of these children are named in John Newton's will (see below), but may not all have been Rose's children by him.
Rose died in 1712 in Westmoreland, Virginia aged ~79 (per an unsourced family tree), possibly on 01 DEC 1712 at Wilmington, Westmoreland, Virginia.[3]

Research Notes
Unknown Parents
Over the years, it was accepted that Rose was the daughter of Isaac Allerton and Fear Brewster, but genealogists have been unable to identify Rose's parents, and the Allerton assumption has been effectively disproved.[5]Here is a discussion that argues against Rose being an Allerton.
It is possible that her maiden name was Sturman, but that theory has yet to be proved.
Thomas Sturman had a wife Ann Porter Sturman whose 1654 will named her daughter Rosanna, then in England.[6]
But there is insufficient evidence to prove that the daughter mentioned in this will is the Rose of Virginia.
With no evidence of Rose's parents, she has been disconnected from any parents and given the maiden name of Unknown. Please do not attach Isaac Allerton and Fear Brewster, or any other parents, without contacting one of the Profile Managers or a member of the Puritan Great Migration project.
Further Research Needed
Rose may have married four times. She may have been the widow of Thomas Shepherd when she married John Tucker in about 1660. There is a deed in Northampton Co. dated 15 Aug 1657 which identifies Rose as the wife of Thomas Sheppard when a patent held by Sheppard was transferred to Thomas Broughton.[citation needed] Likewise, there is a 23 Aug 1664 Northampton patent which states "...John Tucker, who married Thomas Shepard's widow..." [citation needed]
John Tucker and Rose married about 1660 and had three? children, but which ones? Two daughters, Sarah and Rose were mentioned in John's Will, as well as an unborn child and an unnamed eldest son.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Rose by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Rose:
I see there's an unmerged match with Rose Unknown.
Given that there appears no evidence that John Newton married a Rose Bailes and we have no other information about her, should we not complete that merge into Rose Unknown?
Allerton-452 and Unknown-231890 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband and same first name, and her surname was decided as unknown after some discussion.
Since the merge of the two profiles had not been completed, I did complete the merge. I added "Allerton" as another name so hopefully if a person is searching for Rose by that name, this profile would show up thereby preventing another duplicate (maybe!!).
There are quite a bit of unknowns surrounding [Newton-165] and his wives. I see the name "Joan Barr" listed as a 1st. wife, in the undocumented source below.

Error report notes separators between various parts of her name, these can be fixed by removing them from the name and recording these objections in the notes field. Thank you so much...we want to have an unblemished Error report!
Allerton-225 and Unknown-231890 appear to represent the same person because: These profile are clearly talking about the same person. It looks like Unknown-231890 is much better documented. Please consider merging.
Rose Allerton, brother of Isaac Allerton. Jr or Rose (Sturman) Shepherd Tucker Gerrard Newton, dau of Thomas & Ann Sturman ? Let's look into this some more.....
Tucker-939 and Sturman-129 appear to represent the same person because: Rose Tucker is actually Rosanna Sturman. She was the wife of Jonathan Tucker. She later married Gerard, Sheppard and Newton. (I'm not sure of the order of marriages yet).
Unknown-258455 and Tucker-939 are not ready to be merged because: Correct last name at birth needs to be determined first. Tucker, gerard, newton, nor shephard are the last name at birth. Please don't merge into unknown as there are several other duplicates. If they are all merged into unknown and then the correct name is determined will cause redirects.
I believe the LNAB is Allerton but need to verify the source first.
Given that there appears no evidence that John Newton married a Rose Bailes and we have no other information about her, should we not complete that merge into Rose Unknown?
I also added Elizabeth (Newton) Berryman (abt.1683-aft.1762) as her child from her marriage to John Newton.
I will leave the rest for you folks to review and make changes if needed.
