Joyce Armistead born 1705 in Hesse Lancaster County, Virginia was the daughter of William Armistead of Eastmost River and Anna Kendall Lee. She married Mordecai Booth of Belleville, Gloucester County in 1729. They had one son George Booth born 1730. A large scale oil on canvas of her painted in 1745 by William Derring is preserved in the Gloucester County family of General William Booth Taliaferro. It has recently been gifted to The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. CWF is also in possession of an oil painting of her son George Booth.
