Biography

Charlotte Wear Armstrong was born on September 23, 1807 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Her parents were Robert Armstrong III and Elizabeth Wear. She was the fifth of twelve children.

She married Samuel Armstrong on March 15, 1824 in Knoxville, Tennessee, with whom she had no children.[1][2]

She married a second time to Henry Baldwin on February 9, 1829 in Knoxville, Tennessee.[3][4] They had seven children, all born in Tennessee.

  1. Robert Elsner Baldwin was born in 1830.
  2. Euel Erasmus Baldwin was born in 1832.
  3. Armstrong Wear Baldwin was born in 1834.
  4. Adison Thompson Baldwin was born in 1837.
  5. Susan Elizabeth Baldwin was born in 1838.
  6. Moses Marcellus Baldwin was born in 1844.
  7. James Henry Baldwin was born in 1846.


Charlotte passed away at an age of 46 on April 20, 1854 in Knoxville. [5]
