Jesse Ashby was born in 1738 to Thomas Ashby and Mary McCullough. He passed away in 1823 and is buried in the Waltons Creek Church Cemetery in Centertown, Ohio County, Kentucky.[1]

Jesse Ashby was born in 1738 in Frederick County, Virginia. He died on 28 November 1823 in Ohio Co., Kentucky. He was buried in Walton's Creek Church Cemetery, Ohio Co., Kentucky. His wife, Tamar, is buried beside him.

His first marriage was to Nancy Williams. His second was to Tamar Ruby. By them he had thirteen children.

According to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Jesse was a Revolutionary War veteran but, this may be incorrect. There is some question to the validity of Jesse Ashby's Revolutionary War service.

Sandra Lytch (#47125988) "The DAR memorial is incorrect. HE DID serve in Dunmore's War from Romney, Virginia which was a precursor to the Revolutionary War in 1774."
