Biography

Agnes /Audley/ Birth: 1544 Hitchen, Herefordshire, England Death: 7 September 1620 London, England PARENTS Father: William /Audley/ [1]

Agnes Audley married Mark Williams in St. Albans in 1561. Agnes and Mark Williams were the parents of James Williams, a member of the Merchant Tailors’ Company in 1587. James married Alice Pemberton and resided in London where their son Roger Williams was born in 1603 in London. The will of James Williams in 1621 leaves bequests to his wife, Alice, and sons, Sydrach (Shadrach), Roger and Robert as well as daughter Catherine. Shadrach was also a member of the Merchant Tailors’ Company. Alice’s will in 1634 left £10 yearly for twenty years to her son Roger Williams then beyond the seas. Roger Williams was born in 1606 and raised in the parish of St. Sepulchres, without Newgate, London. He studied at Sutton’s Hospital, Charter House, in London, and Pembroke College at Cambridge University til 1627. Aboard the ship Lyon, he and his wife, Mary Barnard, arrived in Boston. He later founded the colony of Rhode Island, and befriended Anne Hutchinson, the daughter of Francis Marbury. https://venablesancestry.wordpress.com/venables-in-hertfordshire/

It seems very unlikely that there were two sons named James one born 1562 the other 1582. There are notes on the file that suggest they be merged but no proposed, rejected or unmerged match showing.

Audley-194 and Audley-12 appear to represent the same person because: except for date of death these are a clear duplicate.
