Biography

John de Avranches was born sometime after 1226 when his parents married. John married a woman known only as Amice. He inherited land from his mother who had been one of three sisters who inherited their fathers estates. John in turn left three daughters as his heirs. Control of his estate and the marriages of his daughters was given to Emery Bezill, brother of Mathias Bezill. Emery married Elizabeth de Avanches, youngest of the three to his nephew Matthew Bezill. Emery was also given the marriage of Amice, but no more is known of her. [1]
