Abigail Bailey was born in March 1671/72,[1] the oldest of eight children of Joseph Bailey and Abigail Trumble.[2] She was baptized in the home church of Rowley on 12 May 1672,[3] it being another 7 years before the First Church of Bradford was established.
In 1688, Abigail married Samuel Tenney.[4] They had one child, Abigail, born 22 Nov 1689.[5] This daughter Abigail Tenney married Nathaniel Haseltine and settled with him in Haverhill, where they went on to have a large family of 11 children (from 1712).
Abigail passed away in 1689 at the age of only 17 (in her 18th year per her gravestone), and only 6 days after giving birth to the above daughter.[6] She was buried in the Ancient Burying Ground in Bradford.[7] Her husband Samuel signed the legacy from Abigail's father in 1713, on behalf of their daughter.[8]
