Edward Larrabee Baker was a Captain in the Third Minnesota Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. This regiment was captured by Confederate cavalry led by Colonel Nathan Bedford Forrest at the First Battle of Murfreesboro, Tennessee on July 13, 1862. The Third Minnesota Infantry Regiment was paroled and later exchanged. It later served at the Siege of Vicksburg.
This Edward Larrabee Baker should not be confused with his nephew Edward Larrabee Baker (1869-1949) who was the editor of the book "Charles Minton Baker and the Pioneer Trail".
