Biography

William Ball was the elder son of Robert Ball and Margaret.[1][2]

His father left him all his personal estate when he died.[1]

William married Margaret Moody.[1]

They had son John and three daughters.[1] The daughters were Agnes, Blanch and Joane.[2]

William Ball died at Wokingham, Berkshire in 1550, and was succeeded by son John.[1][2]

Research Notes

He is suggested as born 3 June 1505 in the family estate in Wokingham, Berkshire, England. No source identified for this.

It is suggested that he married in 1524 in Berkshire, England. No source identified for this.

The Ball family pedigree is not listed in the Visitation of Berkshire in 1552 (by Thomas Benolte), 1566 (by William Harvey), or 1664 (by Elias Ashmole).[3] But is listed in The Visitation of London of 1633, 1634, 1635.[2]

A transcription of the will of William Ball of Wokingham gives items to daughters Alis, Blanche and Johan, and the rest of his estate to his wife Alis. It does not mention son John, nor refer to his wife as Margaret.[4]
