Biography

Martha was born in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony on 26 Apr 1740.[1][2] She is the seventh born child and fourth daughter of Robert Barnard and Elizabeth (Howe) (Bailey). She married in Marlborough on 23 Nov 1758, Noah Howe, son of Benjamin Howe and Lucy Amsden.[3] They had six (known) children together, all born in Marlborough: 1) Fortunatus b. on 26 Mar 1760; 2) Winslow b. on 8 Nov 1761; 3) Nanne b. on 2 Apr 1763; she died at age 12 on 21 Jan 1776; 4) Calvin b. on 17 Jun 1765; 5) Gardner b. on 16 Feb 1767; he died at age 8 on 25 Aug 1775; and 6) Lydia b. on 26 Nov 1769. Martha died in Marlborough on 10 Aug 1807.[4]
