He married Anne Cooke on 22 Aug 1602 at the same church, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England. [3]
Ann is mentioned several times in Ann Cooke's (her mother's) will, proved at Beccles, 27 May 1626. Ann's children, Sarah, Thomas, Simon, Elizabeth, Ann & Robert Barnard all received 40£ when age 21. Ann received a feather bed, bolster and 2 blankets. She also received all the wearing linen and "woollen clothings, which the testator usually wears, in 3 weeks." All linen divided three ways between her, brother John and all grandchildren in one month.
He and Anne were the parents of Thomas, Sarah, Simon, Anne, Elizabeth and Robert.
Thomas died in May 1621. He was buried on 24 May 1621 in St. Margaret Parish, Lowestoft, Suffolk, England.

A will of Ann COOKE, Oulton, Suffolk, England, which mentioned her daughter Anne who had been married to a BARNARD. This will is from "Wills of the Archdeaconry of Suffolk, 1625-1626" by M.E. Allen, pp. 148-149. In the will, it mentions: " . . . to Sara, THOMAS, Simon, Elizabeth, Ann and ROBERT BARNARD, children of daughter Anne, now the wife of Thomas DEYNES of Lowestoft . . ."
He was born or at least baptized in 1575 and was a shipwright like his father. He married Anne Cooke in 1602. They had these children: Sarah, Symon born about 1610, Thomas about 1612, Anne 1612 or 1613, Elizabeth 1614 and Robert 1617
