Thomas Bascom, born in 1744 at Western (now Warren) Mass[1], was the eldest son of Lt. Samuel Bascom [2]and Mary Warner Bascom.[3] He married Martha (Fields) Allen at Amherst, where they lived for many years, returning to Western a few years before his death, in the mid 1780s. His estate was declared insolvent on 27 Oct 1789, and his widow, Martha died shortly thereafter in Jan 1800.[3]
