This is the profile of the wife of Joseph Isaac. There is some documentation about Isaac's wife, but little documentation about her parents.
In 1912 Mackenzie noted that the maiden name of Margaret, the wife of Joseph Isacke, is unknown. [1]
Marshall has Margaret born before 1646 and died after 1689 in Calvert County, Maryland. Most importantly, Margaret was living in 1688 and named in her husband's will. Marshall is also cautious, stating that Isaac married Margaret (Maiden Name Unknown) Browne -- and that he did so in Calvert County, Maryland. [2]
Mackenzie estimated that Margaret had been married twice before marrying Isaac. If the first Isaac children were born in 1678, the marriage could have taken place as late as 1677. Others have estimated her birth year as 1647 which would make her age 30 at her third marriage, with her children born in the following decade. All this is undocumented, but plausible.
Margaret first married Brown, and had a child who is named in Joseph Isacke's will.
Mackenzie writes in 1912, "It is evident from (Joseph's) will that Margaret, the wife of Joseph Isacke, had been married before she became the wife of Joseph, first to one Brown, and secondly to a certain Clifford. [1]
Margaret second married Clifford and had a child who is named in Joseph Isacke's will.
Mackenzie writes in 1912, "It is evident from (Joseph's) will that Margaret, the wife of Joseph Isacke, had been married before she became the wife of Joseph, first to one Brown, and secondly to a certain Clifford. [1]
Margaret married as her third husband Joseph Isacke. She survived him and is named in his will.
Joseph Isaac's birth year is uncertain. Family Search gives the year as 1651; [3] Dowling estimates the year as 1652 [4]while Marshall believes it was "before 1646. [2]
Dowling gives Isaac's place of birth as Lincolnshire, England. [4] Family Search provides greater detail, making the place of birth to be Great Gonerby, Lincolnshire, England.[3]
Dowling states that Joseph Isaac was the son of Richard Isaac and Elizabeth Sharpe, Elizabeth in turn being the daughter of William Sharpe ca 1589-1615 married (1612) and Elizabeth Coney 1592- [4]
Joseph Isacke of Calvert County wrote his will 29 December 1688 and died before 23 February 1688/9. [2]
Family Search [3] and Dowling [4] give the date of death as 23 February 1688/89 in Calvert County, Maryland; this is not the date of death, but the date the will was proved.

Dowling finds marriage data in England: On 30 October 1671 in Lincolnshire, England, Joseph Isaac married Margaret Sharpe. She was born in 1651 and was deceased in 1696 in Calvert County, Maryland. [4][3]
Family Search gives more detail as to place, it was Forston, Lincolnshire and provides the name of Margaret's father, William S. Sharpe (1605–1687) Family Search provides dubious information about Margaret Sharpe's birth, stating it was in 1651 in Prince George's County, Maryland. This would hardly be consistent with a marriage in Lincolnshire 20 years later, and there was no Prince George's County until 1694. [5]
Family Search states that Margaret Sharpe died in 1696 in Calvert County, Maryland. [5]
A SAR membership application states that Jane Margaret Beall [7] was born in Scotland in 1647.
The application reported that in 23 April 1651 she was in Queen Anne Parish, Prince Georges County, Maryland. (Note: There was no such place until about 1697). [7]
Margaret was previously shown as a daughter of Ninian Beall and his wife Elizabeth Gordon. There is no evidence that Ninian Beall had such a daughter, or any marriage and children before leaving Scotland, and no evidence that Margaret had such parents.
Family Search also shows Joseph Isaac married to a Jane Alexander Beall (?) (1659–1696) with a daughter Ann Isaac (1679-1757) resulting from this union. [3] Such a union would be inconsistent with a marriage to Margaret Sharpe prior to Ann's birth in 1679, and Margaret shown as the widow in the 1688 will.
