Biography

Isabel may have been a sister of Baldwin Wake. She died shortly before 4 October 1295.[1]

Complete Peerage, vol. 12/2, 299, note (f), states that Hugh Wake (d. 1241) and his wife Joan de Stuteville (d. 1276) possibly had a daughter Isabel, who married Simon de Beauchamp of Bedford, citing "The Beauchamps, Barons of Bedford," in Beds. Hist. Rec. Soc., Publ., vol. i, 18.[2]

To the comment below, how would the timeline for Baldwin work, if he were her father? I assume you're suggesting this guy:

Why not that Baldwin's father, this Hugh, as suggested in the Research Notes:

What is the primary source for the name of her father? We're just guessing without it. That's confounded by ambiguous birth dates for some/all of these folks.

Since Isabel is b. bef 1150, one possible parentage for her is Baldwin Wake (the 1st, the elder) born about 1137...who died around 1198. He is the only other Wake that makes sense, the others are too early or too late. Baldwin dies seized of Bourne. What is the source for Isabel's father being a 'Hugh'?

Disconnected parents, see note.

The dates are impossible because Isabel is the daughter of Wake-56 , and not Wake-59. Both are named Hugh but her father is the earlier Hugh Wake.
