Date of birth shown is actually his date of baptism. [1]
James Bennett was a freeman at Concord, Mass 1639,[2]
James married Hannah Wheeler,[3] dau of Thomas. James removed to Fairfield 1644. [4]
Children:
He came from England to Concord with the Rev. Peter Bulkeley. [5]
Another reference said he came from England on the Hercules of Dover[6]
Will of Thomas Wheeler of Fairfield, 1654, mentioned son-in-law James Bennett, and Mary, James, Thomas, and John Bennett, children of dau. Hannah.
James died in 1659 at Fairfield, his widow Hannah married second to Joseph Middlebrook.
Will of Ann Wheeler, 1659, named dau. Hannah and grandchildren Sarah and Hannah Bennett.
Unless there's something on the US side there's not a scrap of evidence in England that James Bennet was born in Cranfield Bedfordshire in 1618. The first Bennet entry in Cranfield parish register wasn't until 1632, a baptism where the father was Richard Bennet. Cranfield looks to be a red herring and it would be safer to change James' birthplace to England. Just because he married in America to someone from Cranfield doesn't mean he was from Cranfield as well. Update: A baptismal record for James, son of Nicholas, has been located in the records of St. Michael's, Kirkham, Lancashire. A burial of Nicholas in 1648 in the same church is also on record. Information on both has been updated on their profiles. [7]

The second is inconsequential to the subject, but the first article identifies a James Bennet, as servant to Nathaniel Tilden of Tenterden, Kent, who embarked on the ship Hercules of Sandwich, certificated dated 04 Mar 1634[/5?].
It appears that these may be two different James Bennets and the recent addition should be removed.
