The identification of Betteshorne-1 as a wife appears incorrect. The source is an unidentified Ancestry.com family tree, and most independent sources only ever identify Isabel as John's wife (and widow). It appears more likely to have been a confused transcription, given this same name also appears as John's mother, and/or incorrect identification of the husband (Berkeley-6 appears a better match, and clearly not the same John as this one).
currently, John is married to his mother. As far as I can tell, this John shouldn't be either. The Leicestershire John Berkeleys appear to be
