"Richard III married Maria Beverley (1764–1824) of Blandfield on December 1, 1785. Her parents were Robert Beverley and Maria Carter (Landon Carter's daughter). Robert was Colonel William Beverley (1696–1756) and Elizabeth Bland's son." [1]
On August 12, 1800 Mary Beverly Randolph, widow, married Major Gawin Lane Corbin, son of John Tayloe Corbin and Mary Waller Corbin. Major Corbin lived at King's Creek, York County. He died in 1821 leaving the plantation to his son, Richard as his wife, Maria, gave up her dower rights. There were four children by this marriage. Mary Beverly Randolph Corbin died in 1824
"Blandfield is a historic plantation home located at Caret, Essex County, Virginia" [2] that was built by William Beverley (1696-1756), whose father was Robert Beverley, (1673-1722) Virginia's first native-born historian.
