Magna Carta Project

This profile appears on a trail from the Lightfoot Gateway Ancestors to Magna Carta Surety Barons Hugh le Bigod and Roger le Bigod that needs to be developed by the Magna Carta Project. Although Douglas Richardson's Magna Carta Ancestry does not list them as such, John and Philip Lightfoot are considered Gateway Ancestors because they immigrated to Virginia prior to 1700 and they are documented by Richardson in Royal Ancestry (vol. I, pages 164-171 ASKE) in a trail to surety baron Hugh le Bigod, whose father, Roger le Bigod, was also a surety baron. The trail is set out in the Magna Carta Trails section of Philip Lightfoot's profile.
