William Riley Blacksher [this is the correct spelling per descendants--grandson Ray Eldon Blacksher & Ray's son L. D. Blacksher], son of Newton Jasper [Blacksher or Blackshear] and Lucinda (Hughes) [Blacksher or Blackshear]. Per resource book "Blacksheariana", copyright 1954, by Perry Lynnfield Blackshear, Sr., published in Atlanta, Georgia: See "No. 2 Wm. R." on page 310 under heading for "Newton Jasper" [Blackshear]. Notation by descendant L. D. Blacksher: Need to request a photo of grave-stone located at Lilly Ridge Cemetery in Missouri to determine how Newton Jasper spelled his last name. The book "Blacksheariana" spells it "Newton Jasper Blackshear." Added by A. Blacksher on 6-14-2018. Oltmann-8

First-hand knowledge and family genealogy records kept by William Riley Blacksher's great-grandson L.D. Blacksher and wife A. Blacksher Oltmann-8 20:35, 31 January 2016 (EST) and Blacksher-21
Notation by A. Blacksher: I merged "Blackshear-31" into this "Blacksher-25" because of first-hand knowledge that "Blacksher" is the correct spelling and not "Blackshear." There were many "Blackshear" names on the previous "Blackshear-31" that I will be researching to add resource material for reference and then final editing to correct any misspellings--this will take some time and is a work-in-progress. The previous site "Blackshear-31" didn't have a manager so I volunteered since I am currently managing it's current destination of "Blacksher-25." Oltmann-8 23:34, 31 January 2016 (EST)
