DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:

Boggess-488 and Boggess-99 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same Henry Boggess since dates are same (or close), spouse is same, and same child or children.
Thanks, CE. Most appreciated. As to the date of birth, I'll stick with January 26, 1678/69 for Henry--this is from Early Colonial Settlers of Southern Maryland and Virginia's Webpage, and some additional Virginia Colony resources, and I've found them and Family Search the LDS site, so far, to be more accurate, generally, than Ancestry.com (although that is still a good place to forage for data, of course). Also, I try to stick to the "year" indicator used because of the calendar change--from Julian to Gregorian. It took 300 years for everyone to make the switch so for many, many years it was written (for example) 1678/79 so it would more accurately reflect the right date-although I think it can be a bit vague at times. I want to do more research on the whole thing before I change from this format. But you probably knew all that. I certainly must agree with you that our family certainly is interesting! I still, however, can't get further back then John but I don't currently have any resources in England so that will have to wait. By the way, it appears to are 2nd cousins or something close to that. Always nice to talk with family. Again, thanks.
Thank you, Katherine, for this info. See Baugus, Boggus, & Boggess Footprints on the Sands of Time, by Joanna Fox & JoAnn Smith, for more details on our interesting family. This source lists Henry Boggess' birth date as 26 Sep 1680 at Cherry Point Neck, St. Stephen Parish, Northumberland Co., VA. The death year & place are the same as yours. Henry married Mary Bennett (1685-1742/3). Mary died at Cherry Point, which is located on the right bank of the Potomac River, downstream from Yeocomico River. "Boggess' were among early settlers, apparently locating at headwaters on Bogess Cove, north of Wrights Cove, west from Glebe Creek and east from main road of Cherry Point Neck, shown on 1857 Plat of Wheatland, page 312, Vol. I of Fox & Smith's books."
