Johann Henry (probably Heinrich) Beyer/Boyer was born 1727 in Germany. He prefered to go by John Boyer. Came to America with parents aboard the Pennsylvania Merchant Ship "Philadelphia" from Dackenheim, Palatinate (Pfalz). Arrived in Philadelphia September 10, 1731. Married Elizabeth Sprecht in 1750.[1] He and 4 brothers served in the Revolutionary War. John Henry died in 1777.[2]

John Boyer was born on 13 August 1727, died on 21 January 1777 and was buried in Saint Paul’s Church Cemetery in Amityville, Berks County, Pennsylvania. His grave inscription reads: “John Boyer was born 13 August 1727, Died 21 January 1777 - 49 years, 5 mo. 8 days.”[3]
It appears that he was the son of Johann Philip Beyer (1701-1753) and Maria Elizabeth (Beck) Beyer (1701-1753), based on the fact that Philip was the only man of the previous generation known to have also lived in Amityville, and on the fact that Philip named a son John in his will. However, no baptism record has been found for him so far.
On April 17, 1750 John Bayer and Elizabeth Speicht married in the New Hanover Lutheran Church, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
No records have been found that refer to him as John Henry. However, his uncle, Johannes Beyer (1703-1784) did name a son John Henry (no Wikitree profile) in his Oley will dated February 9, 1743 and proved the same day in Philadelphia County. The will abstract reads: “Johannes Boyer. Oley, County of Philadelphia. Husbandman. February 9, 1742/3. February 9, 1742/3. G.27. Wife and Exec: Catherine. Son: John Henry.” [4] On January 9, 1749, one John Henry Bower warranted 40 acres on the eastern boundary of what is today Alsace, Berks, and was then in Philadelphia County.[5]

The Big Boyer book lists this man as second name Benedict rather than Henry, but that is a separate discussion & has no bearing on this merge.
The name variation is due to the profile manager of Beyer-57 created his profile using the father's original spelling of the last name. The two profiles need to be merged to correct WikiTree.
