By March 2, 1730 (or possibly March 2, 1731) he and his wife were living near Tulpehocken or Christ Church in what is today Jefferson Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. His son Jacob’s baptism record is recorded there as follows: “John Jacob of Andrew Beyer, b. March 2, 1731; Bapt. January 3, 1731. Sponsors: Joh. Jac. Schaefer and Sybilla Kobel.” [2] This Jacob was the eldest son whom Andreas disinherited in his German will, written in Heidelberg, Berks on August 16, 1766 and proved on June 15, 1768. He leaves Jacob two dollars for his birthright and seven pounds for his share, and says “all my children shall have equal shares thereof [of the remainder of his property] except Jacob not, because he would have made his Father a Murdered…” [3]
