In the 1790 census Philip (age about 55) was living in Mixed Township, York, Pennsylvania, United States.[4]
In the 1800 census Philip (age about 65) was living in Germany, Adams, Pennsylvania.[5]
Research Notes
His death location was listed as Arendtsville, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Adams County was not formed until 1800. It was created from a portion of York County. And Arendtsville, as it is now known, may not have been named that at the time of his death. An article in the Gettysburg Times in 1978 has details on the area and its early pioneers. Jacob is mentioned in the article as Jacob Bear. Church records listed in the article from that time record a last name of Baehr as well.
