Biography

William Brewster was born in Plymouth Colony, 9 March 1625, son of Jonathan Brewster and his wife, Lucretia Oldham.[1][2]

His name is in the list of those able to bear arms in Duxbury, in 1643.[3][1]

1645: William Brewster listed in the 1st Company of soldiers at Duxbury. [4] He and five others from Duxbury served seventeen days in the Narragansett Expedition.[5][1]

He married Mary Peame (her name also sometimes appears as Pieme) on October 25, 1651 in Duxbury, Mass.[1][6][2]

William Brewster, the son of Jonathan Brewster, is believed to have died prior to 1658, as he was not named when his father deeded property to his relatives, including his younger sisters.[1]

There are no further verifiable records of this William Brewster. It was theorized by Emma C. Brewster Jones in "The Brewster Genealogy" that he moved to England with his wife and died there.

Map link to birthplace is goofy! Several Brewster profiles show a goofy

map link for "Plymouth Colony" -- possibly entered by some Google Map employee at the end of his/her shift to show "Colony Apartments" near Plymouth St in Mountain View -- please fix! Current URL = https://www.google.com/maps/search/Plymouth+Colony/@37.4164812,-122.0921135,17z/data=!3m1!4b1 Correct URL should be this one: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Plymouth,+MA/@41.8881638,-70.9150173,10z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x89e4b9efe1b22d71:0xe99070cab6ea2e23!8m2!3d41.9584457!4d-70.6672621

According to Merrick, and to Jonathan Brewster in his Brewster Book, the marriage was on the 25th not the 15th, of October in 1651. The text now reflects that date, with footnotes.

The Vitals section needs to changed accordingly.

The name "Graham" is not in the index of Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Vol. 24, Part 1, The Descendants of Elder William Brewster, Generations 1 through 4 by Barbara Merrick, published under the auspices of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants, in 2014.

Since he did not marry two different women on the same day, and there is no source or record for such marriage to Mary Graham, it is reasonable to conclude that "Graham" was mistakenly written instead of "Peame", and no such Mary Graham actually existed.

Strongly recommend removing "Mary Graham" from William's profile, with a note about same in a "Research Notes" section.

Check the Mayflower Society books on Wm Brewster for 5 generations. They have the final word on which wife, etc.
His spouses Mary Graham and Mary Pearne married him on the same day.

Also, shouldn't their names be set up showing their husband's last name as their name at death? But first, which is the correct spouse?
