Biography

Simon was born about 10 Jun 1720.[1][2]

He married 25 May 1742 at Preston Anne Andrus the daughter of John and Ruth (Gates) Andrus[3]

He performed Patriotic Service on Connecticut for the American Revolution - he took the Freeman`s Oath 1778, Oath of Fidelity, 1783; was moderator, 1781; and was a member of the Comte to supply Soldiers and their families 1777, 1778. [4]

Simon is fifth generation descendant of Elder William Brewster of the "Mayflower". Simon and his wife were among the first members of the Separate Church at Newent. Children of Anne ANDRUS and Simon BREWSTER were as follows:

  • Lydia BREWSTER, born Mar 1743/44 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut. She married (1) Ebenezer JOHNSON; (2) Jedediah BROWN.
  • Asher BREWSTER, born 22 Jul 1745 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth PRENTICE.
  • Judah BREWSTER, born 15 Jan 1749/50 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut; buried in Preston, New London County, Connecticut. He married Lucy HALL.
  • Simon BREWSTER, born 1 May 1751 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut. He married Mehitable BELCHER.
  • Anne BREWSTER, born 19 Sep 1753 in Preston, New London County, Connecticut; died 29 May 1813 in Jewett City, New London County, Connecticut. She married Charles FANNING.
