Mother, Beverly Tate Broadus-Green (author and evangelist), died Oct 24, 2021, California (cremated). She was divorced from Calvin Sr in 1975.
Step-father (from whom he took his name), Calvin Cordozar Broadus Sr, died Nov 9, 1985, Los Angeles, California
Seems his biological father (Varnado) was a descendant of his maternal great-great-grandfather's (Derry Tate) second wife's husband's brother. (And if you're not dizzy after that . . . )
The question is: how was he the son of Varnado, when his mother married Broadus the year before he was born (1970), and Varnado was supposedly with the family right into 1972?
(I should, maybe, stop chasing rabbits.)
