Biography

Born August 24, 1926, in Crowder, Oklahoma, to Roy Thomas Brown and Jettie (Zachary) Brown. He had one sister, Betty Lou.

After graduating from Crowder High School, he attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla.

He married Doris Little May 30, 1947. They had three children: Tom, Mike, and Barbara.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. After moving to Oregon in 1953, he served as a correctional officer at the Oregon State Penitentiary from 1957 to 1963.

He married Donna (Eisler) Lux in 1970. They moved from Sheridan to Amity in 1976.

He subsequently worked at various plywood mills around the state, ending up at Willamina Plywood until it closed in 1980. He then worked at the McMinnville Post Office until his retirement in 1990.

Ed enjoyed fishing, square dancing, guitar-playing and country music. He loved his grandchildren.

He was a member of Sheridan Masonic Lodge No. 64 and McMinnville Grange No. 31. He square-danced with the Braids and Braves in McMinnville for 25 years.

He passed away January 28, 2007, and is buried at McMinnville Masonic Cemetery, McMinnville, Oregon.

Grandpa always had a scruffy, stubble. You'd get rug burn every time he kissed your cheek. He always wore overalls, his favorite ones had blue and white stripes and always reminded me of a railroad conductor for some reason.
