Zachus was born in 1878. He was the son of Giles Bryant and Catherine Dozier. He passed away in 1934.
The 1910 Census indicates that Zackie was a farmer and that he rented the land he farmed. The census record indicates that Zackie could neither read nor write.
His name appears variously as Zachus, Zackins, Erzackius and Zackius, etc. The name Zackie appears in hand written block print on the concrete slab over his grave. He was buried at Beaver Dam Cemetery, Coffee Co. Alabama.
Zackie's World War I Draft Registration Card indicated that he was of medium height, had brown eyes and black hair.
He had at least 8 children with his two wives.
