Note: Birth year changed from 1510 to 1495 (a guess). 1510 seems off for a women married in 1514. Another profile for Elizabeth Bryan had birth as 1488 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. This date seems not to match either, unless Nicholas was born a lot before 1496 (1496 from #Richardson, but could be based on assumption he was at least 18 at the time of his 1514 marriage - the same assumption could be made for Elizabeth).
Note: Death location was more likely Beddington, Surrey, England than London.[citation needed]
Parents: Sir Thomas Bryan, son of Sir Thomas Bryan by Isabel, widow of Thomas Blount, Esq. and his wife Margaret Bourgchier, widow of John Sandys, daughter of Sir Humphrey Bourgchier and Elizabeth Tilney. Sir Thomas and Margaret married before 1495.[2]
Sir Nicholas Carew "fell into disfavor and was accused of high treason. [He] was attainted and beheaded on Tower Hill 3 March 1539/40. His widow, Elizabeth, was granted the manor of Wallington (in Beddington), Surrey and lands in Susses.... She left a will dated 21 May 1546, proved 17 July 1546 (P.C.C. 13 Alen). They were buried at St. Botolph's, Aldgate, London.[8]
Note
Elizabeth Bryan was a second cousin of both Anne Boleyn and Jane Seymour, which increased her standing at court. Her only brother was Sir Francis Bryan, called "the Vicar of Hell" for his lack of principles. She is said to have been friends with Bessie Blount, Henry's mistress who produced an illegitimate son in 1519.[9]
Research notes
Elizabeth was not mentioned in the 1495 will of her grandfather, Thomas Bryan, probated 1500. [10]
Note: Removed Thomas Welles as her spouse. An Elizabeth Bourgchier, sister of Humphrey Bourgchier, who married Robert Welles, may have been confused with this profile for Elizabeth (Bryan) Bourchier. ("Other Last Name(s) included "Goodrich", which was removed.)[11]
Note (2): Bryan-31 for Elizabeth Bryan m Thomas Welles has a note that she is not the same Elizabeth Bryan, daughter of Sir Thomas Bryan and Margaret, daughter of Sir Humphrey Bourgchier, who married Sir Nicholas Carew.
↑ guess based on her parents' marriage of "before 1495" when they were "legatees and named executors in the 1495 will of his father, Sir Thomas Bryan the elder." Sir Thomas died between October 1508 and January 1517/18 (date of will/date proved).
↑ her father, Sir Thomas Bryan, was "of Marsworth, Cheddington, and Hardwick, Buckinghamshire" (Royal Ancestry, Vol I, p 486, BOURCHIER #13ii, #Richardson)
↑ datafields for this profile (Bryan-244) did not match with Bryan-22 as of Oct. 16, 2015, so they were changed to facilitate the merge with Bryan-22 from the following:

Bryan-244 and Bryan-22 appear to represent the same person because: Bryan-244 had been confused with another Elizabeth. The profile has been edited to clearly be intended as Elizabeth Bryan who married Nicholas Carew, K.G. Please merge. Thanks!
This profile needs to lose either her spouse Thomas Welles or, keeping spouse, becoming an orphan. Unless any objection, I'll ditch Thomas (Welles-43) & merge her with Bryan-22.
Bryan-2589 and Bryan-22 appear to represent the same person because: While doing a Magna Charta add, another profile came up. I found it when I went to the husband. Please merge since this will add greatly to my search.
