Biography

Nathaniel Burgess was born about 15 May 1779 in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, (age calculated from death record), son of Nathaniel and Mercy (Crowel) Burgess.[1]

On October 13, 1806, Nathaniel (of Sandwich) and Peggy Snow Cammett, the daughter of Peter Susanna (Lombard) Cammett of Barnstable, published their intentions of marriage.[2] They were married by Gideon Hawley on 27 November 1806.[3]

Margaret died in Sandwich on 20 April 1853, aged 67.[4] Nathaniel died there just a week later on 27 April 1853, aged 73 years, 11 months and 12 days.[1]

Nathaniel and his wife were buried in Barnstable in Monument Beach Cemetery. A photograph of their gravestones can be seen at Findagrave.com.[5]
