"born about 1672, probably at Hartford, and died in 1731. In 1694 he married Esther Hubbard, who died Aug. 30, 1731. Joseph was a farmer, owning land around West Hartford. When he died, his wife and son Gideon were executors of his estate. In 1736, the daughters (Mrs. Bull being dead), relinquished to their brother Gideon their rights and interest in the estate. An inventory of Joseph's estate is in the Hartford probate records.
