Biography

The Okemah Ledger (Okemah, Oklahoma) 13 Apr 1911, Thu Page 8 James M. Campbell, a well known and respected citizen, of the Morse community, died at the home of one of his sons living seven miles northeast of Okemah on April 10, 1911. Father Campbell was in his eighty-fourth year at the time of his death. Born in the state of Tennessee in the year 1828, Feb., 8. He is the father of sixteen children, most of them living and several of them with him at the time of his death, For the last fifteen years he has resided with his children in Oklahoma. His wife, 73 years of age, passed away on the 22nd of last November. These old people were converted when quite young and remained true to their profession to the end. The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon and the body was laid to rest in the Morse Cemetery. We weep not as those that have no hope.
