This original post appeared to confuse George Braxton and Mary Carter with a later generation of George Braxton (1762-1801), the son of Carter Braxton, older brother to Carter Braxton, and Mary Walker Carter (1763-1830), d/o Charles Carter and Mary Walker.

Carter-1778 and Carter-1774 do not represent the same person because: They are different generations and descend from different parents. Both happen to be married to George Braxton, hence the confusion.
