On 11 April 1518, he was named as a legatee in the will of his father Robert. [1] On April 12 1535 his father made a further detailed settlement, giving Gregory lands in Clovelly and the surrounding area. [2]
In 1537, Gregory was involved in legal matters relating to the manor of Okehampton. [3]
What happened to him after 1537 is at this stage unknown.

There are online family trees that imagine Elizabeth to be the daughter of Richard Carye of Bristol, Somerset. However, there is no known evidence to support this.

There is no evidence for a son called Richard in this generation. Most sources agree that the two sons of Robert and Margaret were Robert and Gregory. I am going to change Richard to Gregory as a potentially easier way of sorting out the tangle rather than disconnecting Richard and leaving him floating with no family.
