Biography
Helaine(sic) was born 27 Sep 1722. She was the daughter of Pierre Chalifour and his wife Marie Geneviève Allard. She was baptized the same day in Charlesbourg, godparents were her maternal uncle, Jacques Allard, and her paternal aunt, Helaine Chalifour(sic), no signatures. [1]
On 7 Nov 1740, in Charlesbourg, Pierre Bernard Auclair son of Charles Auclair and Marie Magdelaine Dhery married Helaine Chalifour daughter of Pierre Chalifour and Geneviève Alard. Witnesses include both fathers and several other named relatives, multiple signatures including the groom and his father. [2]
On 29 Jul 1748, in Charlesbourg, Alexis Gamache son of deceased Nicolas Gamache and Marie Guion married Elene Chalifour(sic) widow of Pierre Auclair. Witnesses include the groom's father and the bride's father in law, Charles Auclair (signature) along with other named relatives. [3]
Helaine Chalifour, 67 year old widow of Alexis Gamache, died 18 May 1788. She was buried the next day in L'Islet-sur-Mer. [4]
