Note:
SARAH CHASE KINNEY
Was born March 4th, 1818, in Pompey, New York; moved to Lafayette, Medina county with her parents when she was 16 years of age. She was one of the teachers in Medina county that instructed the young in the log school house in this county. She died January 14, 1892, of pneumonia caused by grip in the 74th year of her age. She was the only one remaining after the death of John Chase, of Lafayette, of a family of 13 children.
Mr. and Mrs. Kinney celebrated their golden wedding with their children on January 2. On the 14th Mrs. Kinney passed peacefully away to that land from which none ever return. And five weeks from that day her husband followed her to that unknown land and they were laid to rest in one grave in the little cemetery at Litchfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Kinney adopted the Bible as their guide early in life and were faithful followers of its teachings, good parents and neighbors, kind to the sick and liberal to the needy.
