•LE MARIAGE DE SES PARENTS, MICHEL CHAUVAIN ET ANNE ARCHAMBAULT, A ÉTÉ ANNULÉ POUR CAUSE DE BIGAMIE, L'ÉPOUX ÉTANT DÉJÀ MARIÉ EN FRANCE. DE CE FAIT, SA NAISSSANCE EST DEVENUE ILLÉGITIME.

The marriage of her parents, Michel Chauvain and Anne Archambault, was annulled due to bigamy, her father being already married in France to a still living wife, thus she became illegitimate.

She is listed as having thereafter been adopted by her mother's husband Jean Gervaise
