Research Notes

Richardson citation... Sutton "married before 1327" Isabel, daughter of 1st Baron (Cherleton-5 is 3rd Baron). Their son/heir was of age by 1359, so he was born 1328 or earlier. Changed her estimated birth year from 1354 to 1310 (which works with m 1327/son born 1328).

Note; 2/16/2016 This was an adopted profile. The stated birth place originally said Cherleton, Salop, England. I simply changed it to match an obvious duplicate profile since the older merging profile and the information that was changed match the sources in this profile. Will be trying to verify birth due yet another obvious duplicate. There are three Isabell Charlton's listed as being John Sutton's wife . All the same person but the names are spelled a bit differently.- Robert C. Patterson.

Charlton-246 and Cherleton-26 appear to represent the same person because: Cherleton in Richardson; DNB has Charlton, but gives Cherleton as alternative. Lacking a citation to a primary record for either, I'd favor Cherleton but I think DNB's spelling would also be ok if you wanted to reverse the merge (Cherleton into Charlton). Cherleton-26 had been attached as daughter of the 3rd baron, but the Royal Ancestry citation (Richardson) shows Isabel m Sutton as daughter of 1st baron. I did an estimate of her birth, coming up with c1310 based on dates given by Richardson - their marriage (1327) & son/heir John "of age in 1359".

Thank you!

De Cherlton-1 and Charlton-246 do not represent the same person because: These two appear maybe to be father and son. Birth and death dates are too far apart and the parents do not match either.
De Cherlton-1 and Charlton-246 appear to represent the same person because: Even though the birth date is different . I think we still have the same person here. Parents are an issue however. The mother I think . Unless he lost a child , remarried and named the next child after the one he lost. Yes,I'm stretching it.

Charlton-689 and Charlton-246 appear to represent the same person because: This will end up being a three way merge . this is just the first step. Obviously the same person. Just variations of the names spelling.
