1717: Simmendinger's list includes Johan Conrad Dieffenbach, his wife Maria Barbara and 5 children living in Schmidtdorf AKA Neu Ansberg, located about two miles north of present-day Middleborough.
1725-1727. Migration of family--via land route--from New York to Tulphehocken, Pennsylvania.
Johann Conrad Dieffenbach and his second wife Barbara Christler had the following children:
Johann Ludwig (1704- ). Baptized 10 Sep 1704. May have died in infancy.
Anna Dorothea (1714-1761) m Johannes Haag; his identity remains uncertain; see Anna's profile. Dorothea second married Greeninger.
She died after 1737, in Stouchberg, Pennsylvania.

Johann Conrad Dieffenbach had the following children by his first marriage:
Johann Jacob (1690-1750). He does not emigrate with his father, but apparently later he does, as he appears on the South Branch of the Potomac, in Virginia and he is mentioned in his father's will.
