Born 22 May, 1778 in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania, Samuel was the Xx child of William and his second wife Abiah Wildman. The Revolutionary War impacted him early as when he was about two months old “the Indians and Torries, under Major Butler, drove the people from their pleasant and prosperous homes.” He was brought up in New Jersey where his father’s family lived. He married Anna McCarthy which whom he had 11 children [1]
Died 26 Oct 1869 in Mentor Ohio [2] and buried at Mentor Municipal Cemetery, Mentor, Lake, Ohio, United States
