Hello profile managers and interested WikTreers,

I have a couple questions about this profile.

  • Do we know what evidence gives us her (apparent) middle name Bladen?
  • Should definitive proof be absent, then what is WikiTree's community hypothesis for why this profile (and/or the actual woman) has this middle name? I notice for example we don't know the LNAB of her paternal grandmother (Dorothy Unknown-135087) or either of her maternal great-grandmothers (Ann Unknown-352905 & a certain NN Unknown-400830 about whom nothing is known, apparently).

It is perhaps mere coincidence that Winston CHURCHILL (that one!) is buried in Bladon, north of Oxford, England. But it is perhaps not coincidence that of the relatively small number of living people with LNAB=BLADEN many (almost half) of them are in the United States ; or at least, in contrast to the relatively small number of living people people LNAB = BLADON where most of them are in England, and fewer than 10% are in the US:

I think the implication may be that Blad-on is a spelling of the same root family place-name that didn't migrate to the U.S. from England, with the same vigor, for whatever reasons, compared to the spelling Blad-en. Regardless they both trace back here:

https://opendomesday.org/place/SP4414/bladon/ so presumably via various knights or distant relations working under https://opendomesday.org/name/bishop-odo-of-bayeux/

Random research notes:

But who knows. It would be great if it were just her grandmother's name!

Thanks in advance for your time, and ongoing work on this profile and family group,
