Geneviève Cloutier lived

Genevieve, daughter of Zacharie Cloutier and Madeleine Émard. was born on 22 January 1655 in Québec, and baptized in 11 February 1655 in the Notre-Dame-de-Québec parish. [1][2]

On 29 Jan 1674, she married Joseph Guyon, son of Jean Guyon and Élisabeth Couillard in Chateau-Richer, Montmorency. , in La Visitation-de-Notre-Dame, Château Richer. [3][4]The marriage contract was signed on 13 Jan 1674. (Vachon, Chteau-Richer). [5]

The couple had 10 children, 5 of whom married.[5]

Genevieve, Widow Guyon, age 69, died on 19 Feb 1725 in Varennes. Entry in funerals record in parish register is « la veuve Guyon ». Probably, she was living with her son Ignace’s family at her death. [5] [6]

Research Notes

  • The 1725 burial record does not contain a first name. Jette attributes the record to Genevieve. Death information is flagged uncertain. Her son, Ignace, was living in Varennes at this time. Burial record in parish registers shows her as « la veuve Guyon ».
