Biography

Nathaniel Conant was born on July 23, 1726 in Beverly, Essex County, Province of Massachusetts. He was the son of Daniel Conant and Lucy Dodge.[1]

He married Abigail (Dodge) Conant (abt.1733-1813) daughter of Joshua Dodge and Hannah Rayment, in Beverly, Massachusetts, on 13 November 1756.[2]

He served in the French & Indian War.

He was a Tanner by trade. He moved from Beverly, MA to the North Parish of Sanford, ME, later known as Alfred, around 1768 and was one of its earliest settlers. He donated an acre of land for the establishing of the North Parish Church and the graveyard where he is now interred.

Nathaniel passed away at age 80 on January 06, 1808 in Alfred, York County, Maine Colony. [3][4]
