Thomas Copley was born July 27,1706 at Copely Hall in Halifax, Yorkshire, England to Mathew Copley 1679-1763 and Hannah (Huxley) Copley.1681-1745. Although his family had lived in Connecticut at that point since the time of his Great grandfather Thomas Copley, husband of Elizabeth Griswold, whose son, Thomas married Ruth Denslow, who then had a son Mathew Copley who married Hannah Huxley, and they were the parents of this Thomas. All of these parental relations of Thomas Copley lived in the Hartfield CT area to his Great grandparents.
Thomas Copley married Rhoda Prater, but the date is unknown.
He died in Giles Co. VA on either Dec. 5th or 8th in either 1818 or 1821.
