Death certificate says born in 1887, census records and gravestone says 1888.
"Mrs. Cordell preceded him in death in 1935. Survivors are four sons, H. D. Cordell Jr., Rowden Cordell and Fred Harry Cordell, all of Childress, and Frank Thomas Cordell of Fort Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Della Beth Brown of Amarillo and Mrs. Maurine Morgan of Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Grace Hall of Childress; one brother, Frank Cordell of North Hollywood, California; and 10 grandchildren. "
