Biography

Joan was the daughter of Sir William Courtenay of Powderham[1][2] and Cecily Cheney.[2]

She married William Carew, Knt. of Mohun Ottery.[1] They had the following children:

  1. Vice-Admiral Sir George Carew[1]
  2. Cecilia Carew[1]
  3. Sir Peter Carew, MP[1]
  4. Sir Philip Carew[1]

Joan died in 1546.
