Biography

Jennet, daughter of John Cowan and Sarah (Clinkscales) Brownlee, was born in Due West, South Carolina in February of 1834. She came from a large family and, by 1850, had moved out of the house to find work in Anderson, South Carolina, living in a hotel.[1] She married John Seawright on November 23, 1852, and they quickly grew their family, farming outside of Cokesburg, South Carolina.[2][3] Jennet died at the age of 61, on September 13, 1895, and is buried at Greenville Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Shoals Junction, South Carolina.[4]
