Rachel Griffith Creel, daughter of David Hamilton CreelAdelia Delila Hitt, was born April 5, 1841 in Rappahannock County, Virginia. She married Thomas Joseph Bragg on April 19, 1867 in Rappahannock County, Virginia[1]. After Thomas died, Rachel married Albert Hilary Hitt on December 23, 1915 in Rappahannock County, Virginia[2]. Rachel died January 5, 1923 in Rappahannock County, Virginia[3] and was buried in the Bragg Family Cemetery, Amissville, Rappahannock, Virginia[4]
Thomas Joseph and Rachel Griffith (Creel) Bragg had the following children:
Rachel's application for her husband's pension shows the name and dates used. The application was for service in the South's 49th Infantry. The 49th Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment raised in Virginia for service in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. It fought mostly with the Army of Northern Virginia.
