Biography

Elijah Barry Crowder was born 20 Jul 1845 in Raysville, Madison County, North Carolina. He was the son of Ira Crowder and Betsy Bailey. He had 13 siblings as well in the family. In the 1850 census Elijah (age 5) was in Buncombe, North Carolina, United States.[1]

Elijah married Emily Dewese on 2 May 1869 in Madison, North Carolina, United States.[2] In the 1880 census Elijah (age 34), Farmer, was the married head of household in Bull Creek, Madison, North Carolina, United States.[3]

In the 1910 census Elizah (age 64), Retiree, was the married head of household in Bull Creek, Madison, North Carolina, United States.[4] Elijah died on 26 November 1912 and was buried in Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill, Madison County, North Carolina, United States.[5]
